"I'll huff and puff and blow your house down!" said the big bad wolf to the little pig as his jaws became full of heated air. With ease the wolf was successful in ravaging that pig's house by blowing it to the ground. It was made of straw and the pig became the wolf's breakfast that day...sausage and bacon!.

The wolf then fiercely ran to the second pig's house that was made of sticks and effortlessly brought a collapse to that domain. Ham sandwiches was his menu for lunch! However, when the vicious wolf arrived at the third pig's house he could not blow that property down. In each attempt he was ineffective because the house was made of bricks and built on a solid foundation.

Instead of giving up the angry wolf changed his strategy. He climbed to the roof and forcibly slid down the chimney. If he could get inside the house the wolf would make plunder out of its contents! Outsmarting the tenacious wolf, this pig built a blazing fire with a large kettle filled with boiling  water. The desperate and uncalculated wolf fell straight to his own demise!  No pig feet for dinner that night!

The above story is my version of the folklore, "The Three Pigs."  I want to bring out some spiritual principles and present some thought-provoking questions.

What is trying to sabotage your ministry? What plots are in the enemy's file cabinet designed to disrupt your marriage and destroy your family? Where are the present-day wolves who are dressed as stock brokers, business partners, legal analysts and corporation heads?  These people's mouths are filled with blood from the devouring attacks on the sheep as they shred the souls of the innocent.

Where are the voices that represent the Kingdom of God?  ARISE! We must be alert, alive and aware of the adversary's schemes. We must avoid the symptoms of blinded eyes, dull ears and muted mouths!

"How Strong Is Your House?"

  • As messengers of the gospel we cannot be caught with unprotected, partially built and dilapidated houses of faith.

  • We must do as Noah and build an ark of safety wherein our families can dwell while traveling through this tempestuous sea of time.

  • We must preach the word in season and out of season until lives are changed and minds are transformed.

  • We must go back out as messengers declaring the wonders of God's saving grace!  "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things." (read Romans 10:13-17)

  • Build your houses on a firm foundation. Jesus said that the wise man builds his house on the rock and not on the sand. "And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." (read Matthew 7:24-29)

  • Watch out for the wolf in our community, church and country! His job is to scatter and destroy. Therefore, we must be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (I Peter 3:8)

  • Take care of our natural bodies, the temples of God, so we can continue the work and assignment that God have placed in our hands.

Let's raise our voices as one with messages of hope as we teach our people preparation, protection and prevention skills. Let's proclaim and declare life and success with Kingdom authority!

The wolf may blow but OUR HOUSES SHALL STAND!!
