A lot of people are looking for how to save money because of the economy, so here are five money saving tips that are really easy to fit into your everyday life.

Switch off your electronic equipment
Did you know that when you leave your TV in standby mode, it is still using electricity? In fact, it uses around 60% of the electricity it uses when it is switched on. Of course, other electronic equipment also continues to use electricity when it is left in standby mode. So switch off anything electronic when you are not using it, and you will cut your electricity expenses.

Check to see if you can change your utility supplier
Some states have deregulated the electricity market, meaning that consumers in those states can choose between different electric companies. US states that have already deregulated their electricity industries are Arizona, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

If you live in one of these states, then you can check which energy supplier can give you the best deal by running a local comparison search on a search engine, e.g. Texas electricity comparison.

Limit your trips to the grocery store to one per week.
Whenever you go to the store to get just one item, you are sure to see something else that you "need" and you finish up buying three or four items.

So organize yourself by making a shopping list throughout the week, and take this with you for your weekly trip. By doing this, you will prevent yourself from picking up inessential items that you like the look of - that's why the big brands spend a lot of money on packaging, by the way.

Take advantage of discounted offers. If you are making a list through the week, you will often see what discounts are available in the flyers that are sent out by the supermarkets.

Make sure you get coupons before you go to the store
Visit www.coupons.com where you can print off discount coupons at home that you can use in the store. You will find a large selection of coupons available, and you just pick the ones that you want and print them. It's like printing money, but it's legal.

Make sure you get coupon codes for your online shopping
When you are thinking of buying something online, make sure you visit www.gogoshopper.com to see what coupon codes are available for whatever you want to buy.

There are coupon codes available to give you good deals on anything from clothes to food to travel. As well as checking the prices of the online retailers, work out how much the products will cost with the discount from the coupon code.

I'm sure you'll agree that these money saving tips will be easy to use and that you will definitely save money if you use them.
