Did you wash your hands? This question has been asked during this season of viruses, influenzas and contagious diseases. Washing the hands will help to stop the further spread of germs and contaminants from person to person. Schools have closed because of outbreaks of certain infectious conditions until a thorough cleaning process is completed. In our private homes we choose special times of the year to do deep house cleaning. We de-clutter our rooms, wash windows, change filters, shampoo carpets, check smoke detectors and even give our walls a fresh coat of paint. Our goals are to get rid of junk, reorganize, make sure systems are functioning properly, disinfect, and make the house as germ-free as possible. What about the house of the Lord? No, I'm not talking about the praying mothers coming in dusting off the pulpit area nor the environmental service personnel changing light bulbs and the toilet paper dispensers in the restrooms. I am speaking of a personal spiritual clean up time...
As more and more people begin using conferencing as part of the standard way to conduct business---the question is poised, what are the do's and do not's of conducting a conference call? We seem to have business etiquette for introductions, making presentations---but for those who are venturing into webinars and demos via web conferencing---how can I ensure a professional call and experience?
Like any meeting the key is to practice and prepare ahead of time. If you are using a new audio or web service for the first time-make sure to test out your dial-in number and passcode, check your equipment (speaker phone, handset or web cam) and of course make sure that you have all your documents or presentation materials ready (if you are conducting a demo or sharing). Have you ever been at a place where you felt like you've finally hit rock bottom? Has life circumstances dealt you some blows that made you wonder, "For all I've been through is this really worth it?" Whether you feel like that now, or have experienced it in the past, you are not alone. At one point of another, we've all experienced some challenging situations that made us feel as though we were jailed away from the plan and purpose of God. But, be of good courage! God has blessed us with the exclusive opportunity to talk one on one with Dr. Rosalind Osgood from the New Mount Olive Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Stewardship is a biblical perspective that can be applied to your business. Stewardship simply means managing possessions and property that are not yours. You may say, "My business belongs to me." According to Psalm 24:1, the earth and everything on it belong to the LORD. The world and its people belong to him (CEV). Based on this scripture, your business belongs to God; therefore, you are a steward managing his business. He has blessed you with the talents, time, and treasures that you need to properly manage that which you are responsible for. Read more inside...
Where do you see yourself in the next ten years? How will you get there? Well, I am firm believer that if you want to progress in life you have to see yourself where you want to go and couple that vision with progressive thoughts. You have to develop the mentality of consistently thinking beyond where you are. In other words, you must think beyond your today!
The Bible is clear on God's desire for us to be in good health; "Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 1: 2. As Christians we have a call on our lives to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be examples for the world. This is even truer for women who are called to ministry, i.e. "preaching women". The example that we give both in our spiritual walk, how we treat people, how we follow the Word of God and yes how we honor and treat the temple that He has given us. As women, we are usually focused on our families, our friends, our coworkers and others and will tend to let our health go. As ministers of the gospel, it is easy to pick up bad health habits, use excuses for not working out and following a healthy lifestyle. Well, I know that this is not what God desires or requires from us. Find out what he does require inside...
