When considering the word "vintage," what vision comes to mind? Do you immediately think old-fashioned, worn out, or aged? "The spirit of excellence" is a phrase or mantra that has become very popular over the last decade, particularly in the Body of Christ. We often hear it when we see or experience the gifts or talents of someone who remarkably supersedes the norm or standard we've come to expect. Particularly against the backdrop of mediocrity, excellence outshines the undisciplined, unfocused, and unmotivated while highlighting the highest quality of achievement, symmetry, and precision amidst those inspired not by merely "doing something," but "doing something better than it has ever been done before," especially as it pertains to service offerings unto the Lord. Hence, it would suffice to ask, "What truly defines the 'spirit of excellence?'" "Can it be taught or mentored?" "What is the significance of operating in the 'spirit of excellence' especially in ministry?" Find out inside...
When we look at the world and all of the uncertainty that is constantly swirling around us, we can truly acknowledge that times have changed. Surely, you may recall the times when confusion was not as rampant amidst our government, families were not overcome by severe financial constraints or family conflicts, job losses were not at an all-time high in our country, and global hostility was not as prevalent as it is today. Yes, times have truly changed. And, the response by many is one of fear and hopelessness.
As one called and chosen by God, what are you doing to leave a legacy in the earth? What indelible footprint will you leave in the kingdom, your community, or marketplace that unearths the evidence of something you "did, said, created, or impacted" that will be remembered beyond your generation? Will it matter that you were here to more than just your family and closest friends? Dr. Sherry Gaither, co-laborer with her husband, Senior Pastor Benjamin Gaither of the Stronghold Christian Church in Lithonia, GA, graciously accepted our invitation to be featured on our site and share with us principles of legacy, leadership, and empowerment, so that we may stand ready to answer and confidently settle these questions once and for all. So often, the greatest obstacle to our success is not what is happening in our present. Typically, it is that which we will not let go of from our past. And, when we do not release past hurt, mistakes, or disappointments, they often become barriers in our present that keep us from moving forward in our personal assignment of advancing God's Kingdom. Think about that for a moment. What, if anything, is holding you back from accomplishing the visions and dreams that God has given you? What obstacles are you currently facing that have caused you to believe that you can't move forward now because the time is not right? These are very important questions, especially noting the current spiritual, political, and economical landscape of our nation and entire world at large. We can no longer afford to waste time. God is putting a demand on all that He has invested in us and we must avail ourselves to His will. Read more inside...
